I have been looking EVERYWHERE for these Insulators, and now that I found them here at WireOptim, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE continue to carry these. I do prefer the rubber because I use heavier wire and the silicone doesn’t have the strength that the Rubber ones do. These do get ‘brittle’ over time and will tear, split etc. and I’ve had that experience as well. My point being please make sure these are fresh and I will continue ordering loads of these. THANKS!!

Ive been rebuilding my coils for over a year now. It didnt take very long to discover that the rubber insulators simply cant hold up to multiple rebuilds. These silicone insulators resist burning and carbon build up so they last a very long time. Ive purchased my first order of these insulators about 6 months ago. Because of the inexpensive price and the dramatic improvement in the flavor of my rebuilt coils Ive chosen to replace these twice a year. I rebuild coils using 28 AWG Kanthal and find that the thinner silicone insulators work best with the thick gauge. Because the silicone is thinner the insulator does not tear as easily when the pin is inserted. If I was to use 30 AWG or thinner wire then either the rubber or silicone would be okay. Also I dry burn with short pulses and these Lightning Vapes insulators have been very good and do not show any signs of burn.

The silicon insulators are softer and when you seat the bottom plug it has a tendency to get pushed in too far. What happens is the bottom plug is the part making contact with the battery head. If the insulator is in too far you may not get the proper contact on the battery. If that happens you will have to remove coil head off the base and back out the insulator about the width of your fingernail. When screwing on the tank this will allow the plug to be seated to the proper depth. I never had this problem when working with the rubber insulators being they are a bit firmer. After working with both although not as durable I like the rubber ones better.
