I use this for simple, single wire temperature control builds. More cotton coverage, and perfectly consistent .50ohm every single time. My only wish is for a slightly wider versions, perhaps 1 and 1.2mm. That would make for even easier wrapping and be a closer to many of the kanthal width wires

I started off recently with Flat Wire from two other manufacturers. The 0.8mm x 0.2mm from one was way too springy and hard to work with, and their SS316L wasn’t up to the task. The 0.9mm x 0.3mm was nowhere near as springy, but the 0.3mm thickness takes a while to heat up and cool off, making it somewhat unpreferable for my TC builds. So I wanted to try a 0.1mm thickness and found it here at WireOptim.
This 0.8mm x 0.1mm Flat Wire is Great! It’s just springy enough that to wrap 3mm ID coils, I have to wrap it on a 2.5mm coiling tool, then twist the wire down onto a 3mm tool. Then just mount it and it stays pretty well at 3mm.
Being only 0.1mm thick, it heats and cools very nicely. Pulling the cotton through while building does mess up the spacing just a bit, but the time and effort to get the coils spaced perfectly again is well worth the time and effort spent. I do it with an X-Acto blade.
This is my wire of choice now. My order was filled promptly and shipped quickly.
The only thing that would make it better would be to have 8 holes all the way around the outside of the spool, to tie off the wire when done. I had to drill them myself. Other than that, it’s perfect, IMO!

If you build coils Lightning Vapes Wire is a must have. Especially LV ribbon. Its spooled so nice and clean. It comes off the spool very flat and again clean. They have all the wire types including N90 too. I use a ton of wire and Lightning Vapes is a mainstay on my build table. Vapes well consistently and isnt super springy. I just wish the spools were a little larger so that the wire came off the spool straighter. I bought 3 spools of 316L (36g38g and .4x.1) and one spool of kanthal ribbon. The wire comes off the spool nice and clean which is fantastic. I found that the ribbon wire is pretty difficult to straighten (as compared to say Kidney Puncher) which is the only reason for 4 stars. I will definitely be purchasing round wire from LV again soon though!

Resistance is higher that the round wire. Careful it will cut the heck of of your finger if you slip when using the wire notch on the spool. Still glad I tried it. 0.8 x 0.1.
